This page explains what happens to your information when you use MatchRewrite. The short version: there are no accounts, nothing you do in a match leaves your browser, and the only data collected is anonymous statistics and whatever advertising cookies you agree to.

Information collected directly

None that identifies you in order to play. MatchRewrite has no sign-up and no login, and you are never asked for a name, an email address or a payment detail to play a match.

If you choose to contact us, the message and the return address you supply are used only to reply to you. They are not added to a mailing list, not used for marketing and not passed to anyone else.

The choices you make inside a simulation — the side you pick, your line-up, your decisions — are held in your browser for the length of that session and are not transmitted anywhere. Closing the tab discards them.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to understand which matches people play and how the site is used. It records things like pages viewed, approximate location by country, browser and device type, and how visitors arrived. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify individuals. Google's own privacy policy applies to the data it processes.

Advertising

MatchRewrite is funded by advertising and uses Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising through the industry opt-out pages operated by the Network Advertising Initiative and the Digital Advertising Alliance.

Third-party vendors, including Google, may serve ads on this site using their own cookies. Those vendors' privacy policies govern the information they collect.

Consent in the UK and EU

You can change or withdraw that consent at any time through the consent controls shown by the ad provider, or by clearing cookies in your browser, and declining does not stop you playing any match on the site.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to it being processed. Because this site holds no accounts and no directly identifying information, there is in practice very little held about any individual visitor.

Children

MatchRewrite is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
